The Grainger Jam, The Brian Cunningham Project, Sylver Logan Sharp, Davy Knowles + Goin’ Goin’ Gone, Carl’s Rare Roast Beef Band, DC Fusion at Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club, January 2016Tuesday (1/19) It’s time for The Grainger Jam! If you’re a musician or a singer, come out on Tuesday nights and jam with bassist Gary Grainger, drummer Greg Grainger, and their world-class musician friends. Join them on stage or just come out and enjoy some incredible music, which gets started at 8pm.

Wednesday (1/20) We’ve got a great night of smooth jazz, gospel and R&B with The Brian Cunningham Project. The group is made up of local musicians from institutions across the DC metropolitan area, and they span two generations. We love the way they bridge the gap between New School and Old School, and you will, too! The show begins at 8pm.

Thursday (1/21) The fabulous Sylver Logan Sharp will grace the BBJ stage! As the former lead singer of CHIC, she toured with the legendary group for 20 years across the US, Europe, Japan, and the UK. Sharp is poised to top the charts again with her latest, The Groovement, recorded live in Stockholm, Sweden. The re-release of the first single and video, “Little Things,” debuted live at MIDEM 2015 in Cannes, France. R&B, pop, jazz, gospel, and blues, and a capella magic all come together to create the Sylver Logan Sharp sound. Come hear her sing her #1 Billboard dance hit, “All This Time,” and so much more! The groove gets going at 8pm.

Friday (1/22) Former Back Door Slam frontman Davy Knowles is on tour in support of his latest studio album, The Outsider, and we’re thrilled he’s making a stop for us right here in Bethesda! Also on the bill are roots rockers Goin’ Goin’ Gone. Knowles’ musical journey began as he grew up in the Isle of Man, learning to play guitar from listening to the likes of Gallagher, Clapton, Knopfler, Green, and Mayall in his father’s record collection. At age 19, he arrived in the US with his band Back Door Slam to the sound of rave reviews. In 2014, he served as Ambassador for the Isle of Man’s “Year of Culture.” Come out and hear some of his new and familiar tunes. The music starts at 8pm.

Saturday (1/23) Saturday night’s gonna rock at BBJ! Carl’s Rare Roast Beef Band plays a wide variety of classic rock hit songs from the 70’s & 80’s: Booker T and the MG’s, Spencer Davis Band, CCR, The Rolling Stones, The Doobie Brothers, Eric Clapton, CSN&Y, Bad Company, The Police, and lots more. With Polly Brown on vocals, Steve Stinnette on bass, Mike Moore on lead guitar and vocals, Bruce Buchanan on vocals and keys, and Ralph Dweck on drums, the good times are sure to roll. Grab your free weekend parking at Cheltenham Garage, and join the party! The band starts at 8pm.

Sunday (1/24) The DMV vibe will be in the house with DC Fusion! It’s easy to see why DC Fusion is one of the region’s most in-demand dance bands. Members of the group have performed with artists including Carlos Santana, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle, Angie Stone, Isaac Hayes, Chuck Brown, and many more. DC Fusion is: Uzorije Carter and Tiffany Simone on vocals, Marcus Turner on vocals and drums, Benjie Porecki on keys, Randy Morser on guitar, and Phillip “Doc” Martin on sax. Come get your Sunday night party on! They start at 7:30pm.

Saturday (12/26) The Deanna Bogart Band + The Bobby Thompson Project will rock the BBJ stage! Her performance will not disappoint. Master guitarist and vocalist Bobby Thompson learned to play in the old blues clubs of DC from the likes of Bobby Parker. After honing his craft as a popular support man, Thompson stepped out as a solo artist, releasing three albums since 2011. The Roots Music Report says Thompson’s songs portray “muscular blues- and soul-rock strong on soulful vocals and cut-above-the-norm originals.” This night of hot “blusion” and more kicks off at 8pm.
