Wednesday (8/24) Don’t miss Anton & Leadhead! Anton Dickerson started the group Leadhead over 30 years ago. He was playing guitar with another group from Washington, DC called The DC Playboys. He had a different sound and a look in mind so he left the Playboys and started Enterprise, which was eventually renamed Leadhead. Leadhead has worked with many of the greats: Earth, Wind and Fire, New Birth, Parliament-Funkadelic, Cameo, The Commodores, Kool and the Gang, and Rare Earth, just to name a few. Leadhead’s current stage show features some of the top songs from the ’70s and ’80s R&B and Funk sound. Their fast-paced and energetic show will bring back memories! Joining them for the evening will be Bobby Felder and his Blue Notes. The music starts at 8pm.
Thursday (8/25) Growing up in Washington, DC, Kenny Lattimore was raised on gospel music and R&B/pop icons like Chaka Khan, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder. His freshman year at Howard University gave way to Lattimore becoming the lead singer for R&B group Maniquin. Signed to Epic, the group released the single “I Wanna Ride,” produced by the Gap Band’s Charlie Wilson. In 1995, he relocated to New York City as a solo act and was signed to Columbia in 1995. Ushering in an R&B resurgence that counted D’Angelo and Maxwell in its ranks, Lattimore released his debut solo album a year later. The self-titled, gold-certified set spun off two top 20 hits: “Never Too Busy” and the romance classic “For You,” which peaked at No. 6 on the R&B charts. Now the “modern soul man” is back with another hit in the making, “Love Me Back.” The simple feel-good track is the lead single from Lattimore’s seventh solo album, Anatomy of a Love Song. Hear him perform this new tune and so much more! He’s here for two shows at 7pm and 10pm.

Sunday (8/28) Incredible artist Conya Doss has a voice that sounds like it’s both from the past and the future. She is classical-influenced, blues-influenced, R&B-influenced and rock-influenced, which herein lies the brilliance of how she collectively and seamlessly creates great music. Doss has built a solid reputation over the years as the modern benchmark for any young female artist and her new studio project, Seven, highlights that. With beauty, grace and confidence, the poised songstress has composed a song compilation of warm and personal tracks that are full of soul with huge melodies. The skillful arrangement of horns, strings and piano riffs suit her finely crafted lyrics about love, life, and pursuing one’s dreams. Listen in for the new songs, as well as standouts “Just Me” and “Where Do We Go From Here” from her last recording, Pocketful of Purpose. All of Doss’ album titles are authentically steeped in the spirit of growth and change, and Seven is no different. At this live performance treat, you’ll hear the songbird’s breezy voice twisting through candid sentiments of a young woman who is comfortable in her own skin. The concert begins at 8pm.
